Would you like to play a game of virtual reality boxing and feel the blows? Perhaps noted as an opponent online makes you a failure in the match? Although the answer for most of us is obvious, it seems to be for everyone.
A group of German scientists from Hasso Plattner Institute has developed an accessory that allows you to feel virtual interaction.
It consists of a bracelet that stimulates the muscles to the immersive experience of these games prove as real as possible for the user. Although that note does not yet allow the blows, the investigators are at it.
Dubbed Impact, the bracelet combines a tactile response to electrical stimulation of the muscles, allowing the user to feel in your extremities physical impacts of virtual reality, shrinking or stretching. That is, just as we notice that we are going to get hit, the arm contracts and without a thought for our brain, we move backwards.
According says Patrick Baudisch, project manager, “is an illusion . Our intention is that the user wearing VR goggles is created truth that has been hit by something. ”
For now, this illusion only works with short strokes of up to 200 milliseconds. Now, the challenge of these German researchers is how to get a steady pulse (to feel in your own flesh the pleasure of driving in a game like Grand Theft Auto).
