SAIC Motor is the largest auto company listed on China's A-share market (Stock Code: 600104). Faced with severe challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, shortages of chips, power rationing, and soaring raw material prices, SAIC Motor maintained stable vehicle sales last year. The carmaker sold 5.46 million vehicles and delivered 5.81 million vehicles in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 5.5 percent, ranking first in China for 16 consecutive years.

SAIC Motor sold nearly 2.86 million self-branded vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 10 percent, and accounted for 52.3 percent of the group's total sales, exceeding 50 percent for the first time. Sales of NEVs reached 733,000, increasing 128.9 percent year-on-year, ranking first in China and in the top three globally. SAIC Motor ranked first among Chinese auto companies in overseas sales for the sixth straight year, selling 697,000 vehicles, up 78.9 percent year-on-year.

In August 2022, business magazine Fortune released its latest Global 500 list, and SAIC Motor ranked 68th with a total revenue of $120.9 billion, continuing to lead Chinese auto companies on the list. SAIC Motor made the list for the first time in 2004, and ranked in the top 100 in 2014. Since then, it has remained among the top 100 for nine consecutive years.
